PRECISE TEXT REPLACEMENT

Literal text and regular expressions stay distinct

The default treats punctuation as plain text. Regex syntax is read only after you enable it.

Literal by default

Characters such as $1 and .* stay literal in normal mode.

Safe capture replacement

Regex mode supports $1, $<name>, $&, and other bounded JavaScript capture references.

No upload

Source and result remain on your device, including inside the Browser Worker.

FREE FIND & REPLACE FAQ

Free find and replace FAQ

Learn about free use, regex, whole words, and privacy.
1Is this find and replace tool free?

Yes. It is free with no usage limit and needs no account.

2What is the difference between literal and regex search?

Literal mode finds exactly what you type. Regex mode uses JavaScript RegExp syntax supported by your current browser, including capture groups.

3Does whole-word matching work with Unicode text?

Yes. It checks Unicode letters, combining marks, numbers, and underscores instead of assuming English-only word boundaries.

4Is my text uploaded or stored?

No. Free processing happens only in your browser and your source and result are not sent to a server.
